Other performers Sunday will be Kalena Gregory’s Hawaiian dance group,
Hui Hula o na Pu'u i ka Noe;
the Destiny Arts Center’s youth hip-hop dance group;
and the Dii Lewis Band, featuring Lorin Kagehiro.
Lewis and Kagehiro, both longtime temple members, will also serve a second consecutive year as the
emcees of the performing arts program.

The event will also feature a variety of Japanese food, clothing and arts and crafts, as well as California
cuisine and games for children. Buddhist literature and accessories will be on sale, and there will be a
silent auction.
A portion of the festival’s proceeds will benefit two non-profit organizations:
Niroga and the
George Mark Children’s House.
Niroga’s mission is to foster health and well being through yoga. Niroga works
with school districts offering yoga to at-risk children and also works with incarcerated youth at the
Alameda County Justice Center. The George Mark Children’s House in San Leandro is the nation’s only
freestanding hospice and respite-care center for children.
